The artists and sculptors featured in our gallery include: Greenstone Artists Cooperative members do not identify themselves individually. However, they are all Maori living in New Zealand. The items listed are Mere (traditional Maori fighting tools) packaged in two different ways and sought after as corporate gifts. Karen Pattie has successfully exhibited her sculptures and paintings for the past three years, in and around Auckland. She is becoming widely known and respected as an artist. Aotearoa Arts Limited is a manufacturer and wholesaler of Maori woodcarvings using New Zealand native timber and greenstone. They also supply New Zealand designed, wooden sculptural pieces, Rotorua-produced piu piu and raupo poi, and a large range of jade and mother of pearl jewellery. They have a large number of corporate customers and are happy to work on any specific requirements our customers may have. Their pieces are individually hand-crafted to a high standard, to satisfy the requirements and expectations of discerning souvenir buyers and collectors. Nick Cabot is a talented artist who works from his home situated beside the sea and the lagoon in rural Hawke's Bay. His environment abounds with sea and bird life which has no doubt influenced his current specialty, this being bird sculptures individually handcrafted from previously used copper. The constantly changing character of the copper he uses means the visual look of each art piece changes accordingly. The birds are very attractively displayed as garden sculptures. In order to ensure stability the body of the bird is made from galvanised steel and the legs are filled with lead. Paddy Bourke is a self taught artist who draws on classical art forms such as Michelango to seek perfection in human forms. His motivation for doing this work comes from an inner energy that wells up while creating and perfecting his work. His work is to be found in homes world wide. Tonie Streeter has 30 years of art workshop training, experience and experimentation with a variety of media. Over the past few years he has concentrated on developing a variety of art forms in sheetmetal. His copper and aluminium fish and human torso pieces are in popular demand. Wayne Ross specialises in UNIQUE-ONE OFF, handmade sculpture and bowls made from Ancient New Zealand Swamp Kauri which has an ESTIMATED age of 2 to 5000 years. He particularly likes to use the stump which has a very beautiful marble like grain that varies between pale brown, almost green and burnt black.
